1. The goals of the BoD for the Year 2022
Fulfill governance duties of the Board of Deacons by providing oversights and direction.
Support ministry through deacons’ engagement in pastoral teams and selected ministry groups.
Oversee and stabilize the church when faced with extraordinary challenges (for example, MSC in 2022.)
Develop long-term strategies and directions on 3 strategic foci.
2. The highlights of the activities for achieving the goals
Conducted 5 BMMs with increased member participation.
Conducted a deacons’ orientation after new deacons were elected to shorten the learning curve of new deacons.
Held monthly BoD meetings and deliberated on issues by consensus.
Overseeing 7 to 9 special committees and acting on recommendations requiring BoD involvement.
Financial and budget monitoring and keeping members apprised of our current financial situations.
Monitor operations through staff & committee reports.
Oversee staff matters such as recruitments, appointments and ordinations.
Conducted strategic planning meetings and identified the following areas to work on first among the strategic options being considered
Spiritual Growth of NYCBC - 5-year HR Strategy
Evangelism & Quantity Growth - Influx of Newcomers from HK
Rejuvenation of Leadership & Congregations - Streamlining Process & Structure concerning BoD, PTs, and Admins
Long-Term Financial Strategy – to support our overall ministry development
Reviewed and updated the Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) framework for recommending the cost-of-living component of staff salary increase.
Initiated a salary scale survey and analysis
3. The results and some forward-looking sharing
Harmony and peace have returned to our congregations
Church operations remain smooth and stable, demonstrated by continuous improvements in processes and technology.
Rev. Brian Wong, Rev. Joel Tang, and Rev. David Yu were ordained.
Called Pastor Edmond Chung and Rev. Joel Tang to be CSC Pastoral Assistant and Family Ministry Pastor, respectively.
The ONCA (Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010) compliance process continued in 2022 and a Bylaw Change Review was done to ensure compliance with ONCA provisions.
Started review and update of the “Goal Setting, Development Plan, Performance Review“ process. Worked with staff to develop shared expectations for the process and reintroduced the process for constructive feedback and staff development.
Identified 3 strategic planning priorities to work on in 2023.

流程和技術的不斷改進證明了教會的運作保持流暢和穩定。
王建革牧師、鄧浩然牧師和于英凱牧師被按立。
分別任命鍾皞軒傳道和鄧浩然牧師為粵語堂傳道和家庭事工牧師。
配合ONCA(安省非營利公司法,2010 年)的工作在 2022 年繼續進行,並進行了會章更改後的運作檢討以確保符合 ONCA 規定。
開始檢討和更新「目標設定、發展計劃、績效檢討」流程。 與員工一起制定對流程的共同期望,並重新引入建設性反饋和員工發展流程。
確定了 2023 年要優先開展的 3 個策略計劃事項。
